10 Sites to Discover this Weekend - Aug 22
It’s been a while since I shared some links outside of the monthly Discovering Dad Blog Carnival, so I wanted to pass on some posts and sites that have caught my attention recently. If you’ve got free time this weekend, I would highly recommend checking these out:
1. Dadcentric - Blended. No Rocks. No Salt. Great post about the, at times, awkward situations of having a blended family. I can relate!
2. D is for Dad - A Season of Lasts. Chuck does an amazing job of describing what it’s like to have your oldest son become a man right before your eyes.
3. Building Camelot - 55 More Awesome Sites for Husbands, Dads and Men. Tyler puts together another great list of sites for men. Good resource to bookmark.
4. Backpacking Dad - Curious. Shawn aka Backpacking Dad describes the exact feeling of guilt that I have when spending time away from the kids, even if only for a day.
5. Frugal Dad - How To Become a Millionaire in 10 Years. Awesome! Sign me up! Frugal Dad gives tips beyond my strateg of hitting the lottery!
6. MyBabyOurBaby - if you’ve got 10 minutes, your family will love you for taking the time to create an eBook of your kids that everyone can contribute to and share. Score some points by checking this out and setting up an account.
7. Sports Daddy - do you play fantasy football? If you are a league organizer and are looking for some cool draft boards, check out this site. I’m in 4 leagues this year, and we use this company for 3 of them.
8. Dad Gone Mad - Be Cause. Danny shares a post in which bloggers can help other bloggers by sharing some existing needs and concerns. Take the time to read the comments and do what you can to help out.
9. Stark Raving Dads - The WTF? Crush. BusyDad and Mr Lady dispense sage advice about why men, as they age, like the girl next door more than the head cheerleader. Funny stuff.
10. Husbands & Dads and Husbands & Dads Forums. Sorry, but I had to work in a shameless plug for my new sites. If you’re looking for some in-depth and engaging articles about marriage and fatherhood, please check this out. Also, there are some great conversations happening in the Forums, so be sure to sign-up there too.
Have a great weekend! New Spotlight on Dads coming tomorrow too! Wish me luck in 2 of my 4 fantasy football drafts too!

Thanks for the plug Jeremy! If anything, I use SRD to explain and justify my own odd behavior. If it can enlighten and/or entertain along the way, then BONUS!

Well, technically, it’s only half my site, so I guess I only feel half bad!?! Check that - I don’t feel bad at all - it’s a new site, and I’m damn proud of it.
Comment by Mr Lady on 22 August 2008:
That is a good list. I’m glad you and Backpacking Dad found each other. He’s the bomb.
And Will, honey, of course he’s plugging his site. He’s been working on it for 6 months! It’s pretty exciting to have a new site. Jim and I plug the shit out of our dad site all the time!

Hey man…awesome list! I’m gonna have to go over to check out backpacking dad…don’t know why I haven’t so far. Just dumb, I guess.
Personally, not offended by the shameless plug either. You have a right to do what you want, when you want when it comes to your own stuff…no one HAS to read it, right? Besides, at the end of the day, Husbands and Dads with no readers is like an Iron Maiden stage show with no one in the arena…its just a shame.
There. I worked a heavy metal band into every one of my comments today. Mission accomplished.
P.S. Jeremy. Mr. Lady swore on your site again.
