How to Stay Young at Heart
How often do you wake up in the morning and say, “Wow – I feel old today!” I’ve been feeling this way too often lately. Maybe it’s a lack of sleep or other ailments, but being in my 30’s, I feel like I should still be more young at heart. So I’ve decided to reinvigorate some healthy habits

We’re fortunate to live in an area where we have access to three zoos. The National Zoo is less than an hour away. The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is within two hours. The Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo is only thirty minutes from our house, so it was an easy choice to pick for a family fun day.

The Olympics have always inspired me. One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the living room floor of our home in 1976 watching the Summer Olympic games in Montreal. It was a small black-and-white TV, but I was still enthralled with the many athletes from around the world.

Spotlight On Dads – Pete Janelle
This week’s spotlight shines on Pete Janelle from My GPS Camera Phone. Pete has been contemplating starting his own dad blog for several months now, so I thought that this feature would give him a nudge in that direction. He also shares some great tips on his blog for anyone using a camera phone, which nowadays is practically everyone on the planet.

Time Bandits – Who is Stealing Your Family Time?
Anyone remember the old 1980’s movie Time Bandits where a number of minuscule men would travel through time to steal things and sometimes fix things as well? This movie lately popped into my brain and made me start thinking about the amount of time we have for our families.

You Are Not Peter Pan Anymore
There seems to be a common theme among fathers, especially first-timers like myself. At one point or another, they seem to have a hard time accepting the fact that, from the day their child was born, their lives were changed. Spotlight on Dads – Bill Heaton
This week’s spotlight shines on Bill Heaton from Bill and Jill. Bill and I share several things in common – it’s uncanny really, just how many coincidences and connections there are. We’re neighbors on Alltop.com, and we’re “neighbors” in real life too (only live about 20 minutes apart). The really ironic thing is that Bill (and Jill) actually live in a house built by one of my ancestors over 100 years ago.
