Alltop Comes Through for Dad Bloggers

I recently shared information with you about a new site called Alltop. You can read my previous post by clicking here.

As I mentioned before, I was given a sneak peak at the site about a week prior to launch buy founder Guy Kawasaki (pictured left). One of the first things I noticed was that it had a section for Moms, but nothing dedicated to Dads.

I sent an e-mail to Guy, who quickly responded that he and the Nononina (parent company) team were working on adding a section just for Dads.

Awesome – finally a site that may give dads the same level of attention as moms!

Today, I’m excited to announce that Guy and the team stayed true to their word, and Dads.Alltop.com is now live!

The new section currently includes 77 dad-oriented blogs, including Discovering Dad, DIYFather, Stay At Home Dad on a Mission, Raising Eli, The Busy Dad Blog, Building Camelot and many more of my other favorites.

Alltop is a site, as Guy puts it, that “aggregates” top stories without the “aggravation” of having to surf dozens of sites. It cache’s the 5 most recent posts of each site included (which dramatically cuts down on the load time) and refreshes itself every 10 minutes. When you hover over a link, it shows the first paragraph of the article to help you decide whether or not to click through and read more – this is the key feature that helps to save Dads time, in my opinion.

In a recent interview with Mashable, Guy said that Alltop is a site that is meant to appeal to the mass market of Internet users. Let’s hope so! We all know that it’s hard for dads to find relevant and targeted information online, so having top dad blogs’ content aggregated into one place should greatly increase our opportunity to connect with and inform dads around the world that there are dedicated resources for them.

When you get a minute, I would definitely recommend checking out the new Dads.Alltop.com.

I’d like to personally thank Guy, and everyone else at Nononina, Inc., for listening to our feedback and coming through for Dad bloggers!

Also, for anyone interested in learning more about Guy Kawasaki and keeping up with his latest adventures, I would definitely recommend checking out or subscribing to his blog How to Change the World.

  3. Guy rocks! I just got the email this morning from him telling me I was one of the blogs listed. This is a much needed service because.

    1) Indeed most non-bloggers have no idea what a feed even does.
    2) It’s hard to find dad content (I started my blog partly because I didn’t really run across many dad oriented sites)

    Props for posting about it!

  4. Very nice coverage of a really cool new site.
