Amen to the above! We have 2 young kids and the games we play together are what keep them away from excessive TV.

It is great to turn off all the TVs, cell phones, video games and settle down with a board game. Card games such as Uno as great favorites around here!

Yeah we’re big on board games in our home. The classics are always good to have on hand.

One of my sons has Autism so I’ve found that less competitive games that focus ore on entertainment (party games) to work well in our home. Pictionary Man and Apples to Apples are our favorites. They move along quickly, are easy to learn and offer good entertainement value for us all.

http://www.letsplaypictionaryman.com and http://www.playyourredcard.com are decent places to check them out if you’ve never heard of them.

Oh yeah, I LOVE this site. It’s an excellent resource.
