15 Fun Activities for Dads with Preschoolers
Little kids can get majorly bored. My four-year-old son Michael, when he gets bored (and that’s every night), hops around like a jackrabbit with its tail on fire, bouncing off of this bit of furniture and that, twirling and spinning, knocking over whatever might be in his path. It’s not a pretty sight.

License to Play
A really cool thing I hadn’t considered before my first child came along is that having kids is a license to do kid stuff again. It’s a license to play. A grown person playing hopscotch or setting up troops of little green army men would be considered bizarre unless that person were playing along with a kid. You have a kid, and you get a free pass to have fun.

The Olympics have always inspired me. One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the living room floor of our home in 1976 watching the Summer Olympic games in Montreal. It was a small black-and-white TV, but I was still enthralled with the many athletes from around the world.

My Toddler’s Top 5 Favorite Things
My 2-year-old son has already gone through many phases. When he first started becoming mobile and active, he really liked to play on his aquarium floor mat, spin in his exer-saucer, push around his blocks and watch Baby Einstein DVDs. A few months later, he moved on to cars, the ball popper toy and Little Einsteins.

Family Fun at the Beach and Boardwalk
We went on a short family vacation last week to Ocean City for four days. The kids had a blast playing on the beach, even though the water felt like we had a swim call on an Alaskan cruise liner. I don’t understand the science behind ocean water temperature

Summertime is a fun time for Dads to do interesting activities with the kids. The weather is nice, and it’s a good time of year to have an adventure. You Are Your Child’s Favorite Toy
This is a guest post by Daniel from deguia.net.
Being a father and raising two great kids is, hands down, the single thing that I am the most proud of.

I love the summertime. It’s definitely my favorite time of year. It’s so much easier to do things together as a family when the weather is nice outside. My oldest daughter Chani gets to spend multiple weeks with us in the summer, and having her around just warms my heart. Lori and I also planned [...]

Predict Your Kids Future
One of the things that comes up often in my family is conversations about what our kids might be like when they grow up. Everything from eye and hair color, height, weight, smarts, athleticism, skills and personality is pondered.
It’s fun to speculate, but we don’t obsess over it. I found a few really [...]

Over the past six months, Lori and I have redone all of the kids rooms. Each of them have new furniture and freshly painted walls; meanwhile, Lori and I continue to use her childhood bedroom furniture combined with a few miscellaneous items we’ve found on sale over the years.
As I posted previously, Ty’s new [...]

The birth of a child is an amazing thing. For most parents, it is an experience filled with joy and elation. For some, though, it is a time filled with stress and apprehension, especially when it’s a premature birth.
My wife Lori and I recently experienced first hand the emotional roller coaster ride after [...]

This article is a continuation from Premature Patience - Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop
Lori and I both woke up early yesterday morning. The doctor confirmed for us the day before that the Necrotizing Enterocolitis was probably not going to reoccur. She said the only stumbling block to bringing Caitlin home was gaining [...]
