Dad and Teacher – Choosing to Homeschool
Ten years ago, when my wife and I first decided that I should be a stay-at-home dad, most of my friends didn’t understand why I’d want to take on that challenge. Many of them abandoned me over time. The Olympics have always inspired me. One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the living room floor of our home in 1976 watching the Summer Olympic games in Montreal. It was a small black-and-white TV, but I was still enthralled with the many athletes from around the world.

Time Bandits – Who is Stealing Your Family Time?
Anyone remember the old 1980’s movie Time Bandits where a number of minuscule men would travel through time to steal things and sometimes fix things as well? This movie lately popped into my brain and made me start thinking about the amount of time we have for our families.

Predict Your Kids Future
One of the things that comes up often in my family is conversations about what our kids might be like when they grow up. Everything from eye and hair color, height, weight, smarts, athleticism, skills and personality is pondered.
It’s fun to speculate, but we don’t obsess over it. I found a few really [...]
Little Shop of Horrors
Remember that movie Little Shop of Horrors? That’s what I think of every time I sit down to eat in our morning room.
Take a look at this 4 foot tall beast (it started out about 6 inches four years ago):
And, here’s a view of it’s mouth:
Then, here are it’s 2 babies (it got so [...]

Kevin from FuelMyBlog sent a note about a contest they are running this month called The Cute Kid.
Since I am a fair and loving father, it would be impossible for me to choose which of my two kids – Chani or Ty – are the cutest, so I hope this post serves to nominate both [...]
Pingu is a Cheeky Little Penguin
Pingu is a popular claymation kids’ show on the Sprout network. As an adult, when I first saw this show, I thought to myself, “Why would any kid like to watch this? They don’t even talk!” Well, it just goes to show you what I know. My son Ty loves it.
Every time this cheeky little [...]

My daughter Chani means the world to me. She is My Angel! I’m very proud of many things that she does, and it’s exciting for me to see her explore the world and try to figure out her place in it. She’s very smart and creative, and we share a lot of [...]

The 2008 Presidential election is one that will greatly impact the future of our country. Over the past 20 years, we have had either a Bush or a Clinton in the White House, and there have been many highs and lows from each of them. Even though I am a registered Democrat, I [...]
