Discovering Dad Diet Plan - Post-Mother’s Day Bloating
OK. So, I was very excited last week to share with you that I had lost 6 pounds in the previous 2 weeks, going from 235 down to 229. Once again, my goal is to get back to 215 pounds, so that the XXL bathing suit doesn’t look like I’m wearing a Speedo or borrowed pair of little boys shorts.
This past weekend, though, was not a good time to be trying to lose weight. On Saturday, we had Ty’s 2-year birthday party. We had tons of food - you know, the good sh@t! Chips, snacks, dips, cake, burgers, hot dogs, salads, BEER, veggies, dips, BEER, nuts, fruits, MIKE’S HARD LEMONADES, BEER, and lots of caffeinated sodas and other drinks to get the kids all hopped up and ready to party. Some people pooh-pooh beer at a kids party, well I say get off your moral high ground and chillax!
Anyway, to top that off, we had a family poker night on Saturday night, which consisted of more snacks and BEER.
Sunday morning, since all of the women in my wife’s family were here, we had a Jammy Panty Party to celebrate Mother’s Day. Me and my brother-in-law cooked a big breakfast for everyone, consisting of eggs, omelets, home fries, bacon, bagels, english muffins, coffee and juice. It was more food than the buffet line at Denny’s, only without the crowd of fat rednecks rubbing up against you.
After a short break, we set-up for a surprise baby shower for my wife, which also consisted of more sweets and treats, but no BEER this time.
Needless to say, it was a hard weekend to stay on track with the whole weight loss program.
So, without further ado, here goes nothin’:
I’ve got a lot of work to do over the next few weeks to squeeze my ass into that bathing suit and not feel like an ’80s rock star stuffing socks down my pants to impress the ladies.
Wish me luck!
