As many of you know, Discovering Dad was one of the blogs competing in the Blogging Idol competition hosted by Daniel at Daily Blog Tips.  It was a contest geared toward increasing your blog’s subscriber base.  We didn’t win, but it was an absolute blast participating (I am planning on posting my key learnings in a few days).

Discovering Dad started the competition with 274 subscribers and as of today we currently have 364 subscribers.  Welcome to the 90 new members of our blog family! We’re glad you’re here and please feel free to make yourself known in the comments or live chat (I added a new Firefly chat function, so that you can all chat on the page you are reading – seriously, you can type right on the page! It’s pretty cool!).

Overall, that means we had a 33% increase in subscribers in one month!  Pretty Awesome! Thanks to all of our friends who spread the word and put badges up on your sites!  You all ROCK!

One of the incentives during the month of July to help drive subscriptions, as well as increase the number of visitors to the site, was a Top Referrer Contest.  So who were the big winners?  (Drum roll please)
