Honestly, your friends who were partying for that summer, will probably not remember their parties, but you have a great story to tell, and memory that will last a life time.

I am so happy for you.

Stumbled across your blog earlier this week. Good on you!!! Your description of Phase III brought back fond memories. I remember the water was clear enough to see the keel. My feet remember how rough it was to climb up the cargo net, too. I'd like to add that the passage from Madeira to Bermuda was made using sextant, sun, and stars--kind of adds that literary mystique to your tale.

That is a very nice adventure. I'm not sure which would bother me more, jumping off the ship into the ocean, or climbing out onto the mast under full sail. Either way there is a long fall, the main difference being that one is taken on purpose and the other by accident.

Wow. You come away from an adventure like that talking like a pirate and wearing a peg-leg, or just imagining you did. Absolutely awesome.

Wish I had had an adventure even remotely comparable. Biggest thing I ever did was drive from California to Georgia to participate in a national vocational competition. It's a long story... and not tremendously interesting.

I'm so frickin' jealous. What I would give to have such an adventure.

I'm going to have to try and rack my brain to remember a great adventure in my life. I know I've had some. I just can't remember any of them. SAD :(
