Last April my wife and I received an unexpected reality check: We were pregnant. Again. I’ll be honest with you, it took us a few weeks to warm up to the idea of a third child. We were happy with the two children, and the even numbers made it easy for my wife and I to divide and conquer when it came to bed time and other parental routines.

Raising Daughters
Alright, parents, it’s confession time: As dads raising daughters, we’re all at an immediate disadvantage because we’ve never known what it’s like to grow up as a little girl. Whining Drives Me Crazy
I love my kids very much. I would die for my kids. If they ask me nicely, I would do anything for my kids. When they whine though, it drives me crazy! Bill Cosby said that parents want quiet and peace. I don’t need either of those things, but what I do want is calm and normal dialogue. Rational behavior. Harmony would be a good way to put it.

Have You Really Hugged Your Kids Today?
A lot of guys aren’t very comfortable vocalizing their feelings, and some men struggle with showing affection to the ones they love most. An easy way to demonstrate to your children that you love them is to give them a hug. Even when they don’t ask for one, most kids will be more than happy to accept a hug at any time

License to Play
A really cool thing I hadn’t considered before my first child came along is that having kids is a license to do kid stuff again. It’s a license to play. A grown person playing hopscotch or setting up troops of little green army men would be considered bizarre unless that person were playing along with a kid.
