@Joe - True about Obama and Emanual, but they voted for correctly. The idea behind hanging that noose around McCain's neck was that he aligned with Bush and he is a disaster. It's not like Obama was accusing McCain of voting 90% with Reagan. I don't think he could have sold that effectively.

Obama will do some great things and many of it will be stupid luck on his part. Others will have to do with the fact he is inspiring others to do good things. And finally, others because he is a great man.

McCain is an amazing man and it is a shame he took such a low road at the end. He is a MUCH better man than that, but he simply fell victim to wanting to win too much.

In any event, I have friends who did not vote because they were R's, didn't like McCain, but couldn't bring themselves to vote for Obama. Just silly. As long as you voted, you have the right to your opinion and thoughts. Voting now matters more than anything and if Obama does nothing else, he electrified the notion of how important it is to get out there and cast your vote.

Joe, are you a plumber?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Give peace a chance, man. You might be pleasantly surprised. Mr. Obama has the opportunity to put actions behind his words. I think he will make a real effort to do so. Not that I expect a rose garden. ;)

He's not in office yet, and already the "change" has started. Too bad it's just a party change, and not a change of the way Washington works. Obama voted with his party 96% of the time (wow, more than he accused McCain of voting with Bush!). His new chief of staff? 98.5%. So much for "governing from the center."

Well, I'll try to be fair. I'll do my best to withhold judgment until he's actually in office. I'm not as hopeful as many others seem to be, but I would LOVE to be surprised. Just not holding my breath. :\
