Welcome Three Official Contributing Writers to Discovering Dad
Please join me in officially welcoming Matt, Tom and Chris to the Discovering Dad community. These three great dads will be sharing their perspectives and experiences as fathers several times a month, and they all welcome your feedback and comments. Here’s a little more information about each of them:
Matt Pfingsten is a contributing writer to Discovering Dad and co-owner of RedSparks. He is a St. Louis native who relocated to Los Angeles in 1993 to pursue a career in Marketing/Advertising. He has a daughter, who was born two months prematurely, weighing three pounds, six ounces. The early arrival of his daughter inspired he and his wife, Aline, to create RedSparks.com, an online baby boutique featuring clothing, gifts and accessories for micro-preemies to 4T. In addition, he and Aline co-author The Playpen, a blog dedicated to providing support, humor and resources to parents of preemies, infants and toddlers. His hobbies include playing guitar and piano, drawing, and chasing his daughter and dog around the backyard. You can also follow Matt’s daily microblog updates on Twitter @mattredsparks.
Tom Bowns is a contributing writer to Discovering Dad. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and four kids. His personal blog is called Being Michael’s Daddy, where he shares personal experiences and wisdom about raising his fourth child Michael who came somewhat unexpectedly. After moving to Portland in 1999, he went through a difficult divorce. Soon he met and married the love of his life and became step-father to another daughter. In the first year of their marriage, Tom and his wife welcomed the final member of their family, Michael, who keeps them all very busy. Tom originally comes from California, in a town near Sacramento, working as an electrical engineer in the computer chip industry. Tom enjoys writing, cooking and volunteering as a physics teacher. You can also follow Tom’s daily microblog updates on Twitter @michaelsdaddy.
Chris Lewis is a contributing writer to Discovering Dad. He writes about his quest to regain control of his kingdom at Dad of Divas. Chris is a father of two divas. Each day he finds himself learning more and more of what it means to be both a father and a husband, and his writing is a tribute to this daily journey. Outside the divadom, Chris is a Student Affairs Administrator (College Administration), a field in which he has worked for the past 10 years with extensive experience in precollege planning, admission, advising, and other areas. Chris looks forward to sharing his experiences and thoughts with all of the readers of Discovering Dad, and he welcomes and encourages feedback, qustions and comments to his articles. You can also follow Chris’ daily microblog updates on Twitter @dadofdivas.
