I recently published a series called What Moms Really Think About – A Series for Dads. This series consisted of 5 incredible Moms who were gracious and courageous in sharing their thoughts about topics of interest to Dads. Thousands of men and women read the series, and hundreds of comments were submitted. It generated some of the best dialogues about life, relationships and parenting that I have ever experienced.

After the series ended, I received dozens of e-mails and Twitter messages saying, “You HAVE to run another series like that again!” Many people said the dialogue that began online carried over to offline discussions between spouses and friends. How did this happen, you ask? The conversations about important topics, such as marriage, physical appearance, sex, pet peeves and responsible fatherhood, grew without judgment – everyone kept an open mind and truly sought to understand different points of view. It was genuine and sincere; vulnerable and reassuring; enlightening and enabling.

So, based on your requests combined with the overwhelming response to the previous series, I’m proud to announce the launch of a new 5-day series for Moms and Dads, husbands and wives, men and women, and it’s called:

What Dads Really Think – Moms Want to Know

This exciting new series will run from Monday, June 30, through Friday, July 4, and it will feature a diverse group of 5 Dads (including me) answering questions from 5 Moms.

What kind of questions? Well, you’ll have to check back each day to see, but based on what the Moms have told me, you will not want to miss a single day!

Here’s a brief introduction to the All-Star Cast of Moms and Dads:

The Moms – Asking All of the Tough Questions

Ohmommy from Classy ChaosOhmommy from Classy Chaos. A 30-year-old mother of three, and wife for eight years to one. “I am a self-proclaimed ‘classy lady,’ only always surrounded by complete and utter chaos. I can typically be found at my kid’s soccer games sporting killer four inch stilettos and inappropriate mini skirts.” Ohmommy has both style and grace, as well as a great sense of humor.  If you want to put a little class into your marriage or family, then definitely go and check out her site.

Kim from Joggin in CirclesKim from Jogging In Circles. Kim is a 35-year-old married mom of four years with two boys (3.5 and 1). “I never believed in marriage until my husband asked me to be his wife. I thought I had the patience of a saint, until I had kids. Truth be told, it has been the most rewarding yet exhausting journey I have ever taken.” Kim is also one of the most genuinely nice people you would ever meet, and she is a very involved wife and mother.

Mr LadyShannon from Whiskey In My Sippy Cup. Shannon is the writer of “the most inappropriate mommy blog on the Internetz.” She is someone’s mother three times over, and someone’s wife; just once, so far. “I met a boy in 1996, got him good and drunk, forced him against his will into the front seat of a Nissan Maxima where some grown up activities ensued, and a short time later we had a tax deduction.” She is also a self-proclaimed daddy blog addict, and she recently started a new advice blog in partnership with BusyDad called Stark Raving Dads.

Momo FaliMomo from Momo Fali’s . Momo is a 36-year-old, stay-at-home Mom with a daughter (9) and son (6). “My husband and I will be celebrating our 11 year anniversary this summer. We have been through many ups and downs, including two premature babies (one with significant health problems); a complete house renovation; and, a business venture. We couldn’t have gotten through any of it without a sense of humor…oh, and beer.” Momo is a jokester with a heart of gold – she is a compassionate yet opinionated mom, wife and blogger.

Mishi from Secret Agent MamaMishelle from Secret Agent Mama. Mishelle is a 34-year-old wife and mother. “I have been married for thirteen years to my husband, Michael, and I have four children, three of which I home school.” An only child, Mishelle is first generation born in America, born to immigrant parents from Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic). She was raised in suburban Buffalo, NY, and now resides north east of Atlanta, GA. She authors two blogs and aspires to start her own photography business in the near future. She is one of the most talented secret agents in the entire blog world.

The Dads – Squirming On the Hot Seat

Chuck D is for DadChuck from D is for Dad. Chuck is a proud dad of four kids – two from his first marriage (a boy 17 and a girl 13), and two toddler girls (3 and 4) from his current marriage. “I believe the core of who I am is wrapped up in being a husband of almost ten years, a father for seventeen years and a faithful employee for more than a decade.” Chuck comes from a divorced family, and he never had a relationship with his father. “It surprises me to this day each time I consider how highly I value my family in contrast to my early understanding of what ‘family’ meant.” Chuck is one of those guys who has learned from life and shares his knowledge freely.

Ed from Zoe\'s DadEd from Zoe’s Dad. Ed is a pretty run of the mill name for a guy with five kids, all of whom have names starting with the letter Z. Zoë is 7; Zane 5; Zia 4; and, the twins Zella and Zander are 2. “I’ve been married to my best friend for eight years, and my wife describes me as a Good Ole Boy Southern Gentleman Hippie type. But I think I’m just a regular dude.” Ed is a stay-at-home dad who truly appreciates the opportunity to guide kids through their early journeys in life. He’s one of those guys whose sarcasm and sense of humor puts you instantly at ease.

JoeprahJoe from Joeprah.com. Joe is a stay-at-home dad from the Baltimore area. “I grew up in a Catholic environment, and our household saw its fair share of turmoil.” He has always found it easier to share his feelings with the written word, and he does so as both a blogger and National Fatherhood writer for The Examiner. He is the only man in a house full of gorgeous ladies, including his ‘hot wife’ and three daughters. If you don’t know how awesome Joe is, ask him…better yet, check out his blog, and see for yourself. He is also a video and photoshop guru.

Jim from BusyDadJim from The Busy Dad Blog. Jim is a 35-year-old husband and dad who was born and raised in Boston and now lives outside of Los Angeles. “I’m a dad. A plain old dad. Not an enlightened new age parent, not a ‘Mr. Mom,’ and most definitely not in touch with my feminine side (well, now that I read a ton of mom blogs, this statement is easily debatable). I’m just a father of a 6-year-old son, trying my best to be a kick ass dad.” Jim also tries to maintain his sanity by training in Muay Thai and playing guitar, as well as producing short films with Fury for his blog.

Jeremy from Discovering DadJeremy from Discovering Dad. Jeremy is, well, me. I am 36-years-old. I’ve got a 14-year-old daughter from my first marriage and a 2-year-old son and 6-week-old daughter from my current marriage. My wife, Lori, and I celebrated our ninth anniversary this year. I have something in common with every dad in this series: like Chuck, I have children from a former marriage; like Ed, I am a Good Ole Southern Boy; like Joe, I currently live in the Baltimore/DC area and we share the same birthday; and, like Jim, I’m learning what it means to be a kick ass yet busy dad. The more I blog, the more I realize that I have something in common with most every dad I meet, which is something I find very reassuring.

Here’s how the series is going to work

Each day, one of the Moms will ask a question of all the Dads, as well as explain why she (and other Moms) wants to know the answer to the question. The Dads have been charged to answer each question honestly and directly; however, with this group of Dads, I’m sure there will be plenty of humor and sarcasm thrown in too.

If you liked the What Moms Really Think About series, then I’m confident you’ll love this new series! Be sure to check back daily, and be ready to leave your comments.

The thing that will make this another incredible series will be YOUR COMMENTS, and the dialogue created from both the panelists and readers.
