Bentley recently unveiled its electrification roadmap for the next few years. Now, information about the first electric Bentley is surfacing.

At its recent Beyond 100 event, Bentley announced the milestones of its electrification strategy. While thermal engines will gradually retire (including the Six Trois Quart cathedral), Crewe will only offer electric models from 2030.

The first electric vehicle could arrive from 2025, however, to prepare minds and customers for emission-free Bentleys. This is what our colleagues at Autocar, informed by Adrian Hallmark, the boss of Bentley, in an interview: “We want to attract more women and be more relevant in future urban environments which are very different from those of today. We want to appeal to modern luxury values, which are different from those of 20 years ago. We have already evolved over time, but times will change again in the next 10 to 15 years. The format, size and name of our products must correspond to the character and strategy of the product according to the customers ”.

Up to 120 kWh of battery on a PPE platform

Between the lines of these confidences, the brand implies that the first electric Bentley will adopt a raised form if not less conventional than the traditional limousines of the brand. An anticipation that makes sense in the technical chapter, since this car should be large enough to accommodate batteries of 110 kWh or 120 kWh, while models the size of a Bentayga will deal with a unit of 150 kWh or more.

If nothing is set for the moment in Crewe, the first electric car should therefore be located halfway between the Flying Spur and the Bentayga. A completely new form for Bentley, just like its electric motor. Remember also that this Bentley will be based on the PPE platform developed by Audi around the Artemis project.
