After getting noticed with the HiPhi Concept last year, Chinese brand Human Horizon is launching the first shots of the production version dubbed HiPhi X.
Like many other Chinese automakers, Human Horizon is entering the electric vehicle segment. But to stand out, the Yancheng brand has imagined a particularly exotic product, at the crossroads of the worlds of SUVs and supercars.
The result is a high-legged car, but with a slender profile reminiscent of the Faraday Future FF91. If it enters a niche segment, the Chinese brand does not hide its ambitions, it is customary, to compete with Tesla. To achieve this, it will rely on equipment then never seen on a production car, with rear doors associating the Falcon Doors of the Tesla Model X with an antagonistic opening dear to Rolls-Royce.
Exotic rear doors for easy access
While no interior photos have been released yet, Human Horizon hints at the interior layout. Thus, the HiPhi X will have six seats spread over three rows of seats. Each passenger will have a personal touch control to adjust the position of the backrest, air conditioning and heating of the seats. The driver will face what appears to be a huge central touchscreen that gives access to all of the vehicle’s controls, like on a Tesla Model 3.
The Human Horizon HiPhi X will carry a 96 kWh battery capable of announcing an NEDC range of 610 km. The mechanical endowment has not been specified, but the SUV will be available in two or four-wheel drive versions. In both cases, a level 3 autonomous driving system developed with Microsoft will be provided automatically.
