Global warming is a phenomenon that we all need to take seriously. To fight this, the switch from thermal to electric is essential. Indeed, diesel and gasoline vehicles are polluting due to their greenhouse gas emissions and fine particles.
Worse yet, compared to cars, petrol two-wheelers emit up to 10 times more CO2 than cars. However, less than 10% of the 300,000 scooters identified in Paris adopt an electric motor. Faced with this observation, ZEWAY has launched an offer that aims to facilitate access to the electric scooter.
An “innovative, efficient and virtuous” alternative
This is a long-term rental formula that is aimed at both individuals and professionals. For 130 € per month, the company provides an electric scooter with an exchangeable battery. For this purpose, the ZEWAY network will rely on some forty exchange stations which will soon be installed in Paris. For this, a partnership has been concluded with BNP Paribas, Monoprix, ESSO and a network of laundromats. Note that the rent already includes maintenance and repair services.
Battery exchange points
ZEWAY describes its solution as being innovative, efficient and virtuous at the same time. In particular, it allows owners of a thermal scooter to drive electrically, at a lower cost. Moreover, professional users are eligible for the “sustainable mobility” package that came into effect on May 10.

The company has also ensured that the battery exchange points (empty for full), which are less than 2 kilometers away anywhere in Paris, do not saturate the electricity network.

An electric scooter equivalent to a 50 cm3 two-wheeler
For its turnkey offer, ZEWAY offers an electric scooter called SwapperOne. It is a machine equivalent to a 50 cc petrol two-wheeler. Equipped with a 3 kW Bosch electric motor, the SwapperOne has a top speed of 45 km / h. Its power and maneuverability allow two people to ride comfortably. Note that the 0 to 50 is done in 5 seconds. And to facilitate maneuvering in a congested parking lot, reverse gear is provided.

Thanks to the companion application, the user will be able to see in real time the information on the trip as well as the adopted driving mode. Speaking of which, note that the SwapperOne offers three riding styles: Eco, Ride and Sport.
