YDX Moro: Yamaha's first active suspension electric mountain bike promises beautiful design and lots of comfort Bike

Yamaha brings a small revolution in its range of electric mountain bikes with the YDX Moro. This is the first active suspension mountain bike. Very nice equipment to make small walks in the woods even more enjoyable. The active suspension is new, of course, but the YDX Moro arrives with a set of accessories that are sure to disappoint purists.

Innovative design and suspension: A radical approach to design is the first impression that emanates from the YDX Moro electric bike. The frame is completely made of aluminum. The mountain bike will land with the “Dual twin frame”, a name still awaiting validation from the patent office. For details, this frame is equipped with split tubes, all supported by a shock absorber. With this design, riders don’t really have to worry about stiffness, weight, height and overload, according to Yamaha.

The suspension, the highlight of innovation for Yamaha, is the strength of this new range. Equipped with connecting rods, the shock absorber is therefore “fully active” and reacts independently to the movements of the cyclist. Which is positive in terms of handling. The mountain bike appears to be long and low to the ground, but the handling could prove to be excellent. So, urge the next test to find out.

All the know-how of Yamaha in this model?

Designing a good electric mountain bike takes know-how and some experience. Yamaha got it right. Fortunately for the company that it has enough potential in its portfolio in terms of bikes with basic design. This range made up of the YDX Moro and YDW Moro Pro is therefore its first rather daring foray into the market. And it is not yet known whether the two models will see the light of day outside the United States.

All electric for a “mountain bike”

The YDX Moro could be a serious contender for the competition. Indeed, thanks to its homemade PW-X2 engine, the model can go up to around 25 km / h. This electric motor is powered by a battery with a capacity of 500 Wh. This is quite sufficient even if on paper this power seems quite small compared to the competition which offers a capacity of 625 Wh.

This model (as well as the pro version) still keeps its secret in terms of price and complete data sheets. However, according to the photos circulating on the web, the YDX Moro will undoubtedly be equipped with Magura brakes as well as components stamped SRAM / RockShox.

We are therefore awaiting official information from Yamaha USA. Case to be continued.
