Original style and uncompromising equipment

Monocoque carbon frame, disc brakes, removable battery, 47 kg, 13,500 euros

Electric drives offer new possibilities in the design of two-wheelers. So when brands decide to break away from the standards of thermal models, this offers a visually innovative result.

The Russian manufacturer Carbogatto has thus achieved a great feat with its H7 electric motorcycle by opting for several original solutions in terms of cycle parts.

First, the machine sits on a carbon fiber monocoque frame weighing just 4.1 kg. This allows the integration of many elements such as the battery or brake cables to maintain a neat look. At the front, the brand opts for an aluminum parallelogram suspension and a Rock Shox Monarch RL shock absorber and at the rear for a swingarm in the same material with a Rock Shox Monarch RT3 shock absorber.

Braking is provided by 254 mm discs with a 4-piston caliper at the front and a 2-piston caliper at the rear. The set claims only 47 kg, including battery.

The battery integrated into the frame is removable and can be removed by lifting the saddle. According to the manufacturer, it provides a range of between 30 and 65 km depending on the driving mode selected from the four available. It takes 5 hours to charge it from a standard outlet, while a supercharger can fill up to 80% in 40 minutes.

Obviously with such a level of equipment, the Carbogatto H7 is not cheap and appears from 13,500 euros. This price is of course only valid for the basic version, because the many possibilities of customization can quickly increase the price above 17,000 euros!

A price that hurts all the more since the MXUS engine integrated into the rear wheel only develops 3 kW. Yes, the Carbogatto is a moped, with a top speed limited to 45 km / h!

Here we can legitimately ask the question of the interest of such cutting-edge equipment for an L1e homologated machine … and to dream of a motorization pushed at least to an equivalent 125.
