KYMCO held its Time to Excite 2021 event on November 26th. Due to the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference was held exclusively online. In any case, it will have been the opportunity for the manufacturer to announce the update of its catalog.
Thus, several models of scooters were announced, among others the maxi scooters CV3 and DT X360 as well as the KRV. The latter is a four-stroke petrol engine with a maximum power of 12.3 kW. As if these new references were not enough, the Taiwanese manufacturer also presented an electric scooter. The KYMCO F9 impresses us with its sporty appearance, in addition to its performance optimized for city and highway traffic.
An electric scooter like no other
If you are passionate about electric racing motorcycles, you will undoubtedly prefer the KYMCO SuperNEX or the RevoNex. But the KYMCO F9 has its strengths. Despite its relatively small size, allowing it to accommodate only one person, the craft has some more interesting features than the next. Starting with its aggressive design halfway between that of the scooter and that of the motorcycle.
The KYMCO F9 also impresses us with its transmission system. Indeed, the manufacturer has opted for a two-speed automatic transmission. Note that most existing electric scooters and motorcycles have a direct transmission at a typical speed.
A top speed of over 100 km / h
While the vast majority of electric scooters struggle to hit 60 km / h, the KYMCO F9 will let you go up to 110 km / h. Although it is considered a vehicle designed for urban travel, this new two-wheeler from the Asian firm will therefore allow you to drive without any problem on a highway. KYMCO promises a 0 to 50 in 3 seconds despite a gross weight of 107 kg.

This exceptional performance is made possible in particular by the presence of a 9.4 kW electric motor with a torque of 30 Nm (at the output shaft). The battery is fixed. It has a capacity of 3.84 kWh (96V, 40Ah).

According to the company, the battery regains its full capacity after two hours of charging. The KYMCO F9 promises a range of 120 km – following the new European driving cycle – and is equipped with 14-inch wheels. However, its price and release date have not yet been disclosed.
